Our fabrication facility is capable in the Houston region and is focused on safety, quality, and meeting our customer’s schedule. Advanced Steel Solutions experienced and certified welders have the ability to weld with multiple types of steel. If our customers are in need of a specific procedure, we can qualify for most material types and filler metals associated with the oil and gas industry.

At Advanced Steel Solutions we are able to create and manufacture a wide range of products. Our certified welders have a great deal of expertise, offering weld repair solutions to work and materials that would appear a tall order for other companies. With an extensive machine shop including CNC machining, rolling, forming and tube coiling capabilities we have the tools to more than meet the most difficult requirements.

Advanced Steel Solutions has a line of ancillary equipment to aide in production including, a specialized circle cutter/nozzle welder, a CNC plasma cutting table, CNC 3 dimensional Waterjet, Piranha iron worker machine, tig, mig, and shield arc machines. We also offer certified stainless steel and aluminum welding. Processes Advance Steel Solutions is currently certified to complete include weld procedure specifications GMAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW, FCAW, STT-GMAW.

We have assembled a group of reliable vendors for finishing processes such as plating, heat treat, certifying materials and more. These relationships combined with our in- house capabilities and quality control department assure consistency with accurate, on-time delivery. Here are some of the drilling rig accessories and oil field components we can fabricate:

  • Drilling Rig Skids & Rig Skidding Systems – Advanced Steel Solutions can provide you with the drilling rig skids to suit your needs.

  • Pipe Racks – Structural steel pipe racks typically support drill pipe. Occasionally, pipe racks may also support mechanical equipment, vessels and valve access platforms. Main pipe racks generally transfer material between equipment and storage or utility areas. Advanced Steel Solutions can custom fabricate your pipe racks to your design.

  • Quarters Packages (Doghouses / Crew Quarters) – Advanced Steel Solutions can fabricate living quarters for the crew. We also can fabricate Dog Houses, the steel-sided room adjacent to the rig floor, usually having an access door close to the driller’s controls. This general-purpose shelter is a combination tool shed, office, communications center, coffee room, lunchroom and general meeting place for the driller and his crew. It is at the same elevation as the rig floor, usually cantilevered out from the main substructure supporting the rig.

  • Mud Tanks – A mud tank is an open-top container, typically made of square steel tube & steel plate, to store drilling fluid on a drilling rig. They are also called mud pits, because they used to be nothing more than pits dug out of the earth.

  • Solids Control Systems – We can fabricate these systems which use with a drilling rig to separate the solids in the drilling fluids that are crushed by the drill bits and carried out of the well surface. Normally solid control systems consist of five stages, including mud tank, shale shaker, vacuum degasser, de-sander, desilter, and centrifuge. Let Advanced Steel Solutions fabricate your SCS system to you with your design or one we put together for you.

  • SCR Buildings – It is a silicon-controlled rectifier, converting AC to DC for use in drawworks, mud pumps, etc. We can fabricate these from your design to meet your company’s challenges.

  • Access Platforms, Walkways and Cantilevers – these platforms that provide access to various drilling rig structures and can be custom fabricated for a variety of rig configurations by Advanced Steel Solutions.

  • High Pressure Mud Manifolds – Advanced Steel Solutions can help you fabricate this arrangement of piping or valves designed to control, distribute and often monitor fluid flow.

  • Mud and Utility Piping Systems – Mud Piping Systems are used to facilitate Mud pumping operations. Utility piping is supporting the process but is not integral to the process, typically fresh water, cooling water, steam, and condensate. Advanced Steel Solutions excels at fabrication of these systems.
